Floating Records Orchestra Presents “West Virginia” An Americana Operetta
When our heroine witnesses the fatal loss of her beloved, she begins to hear voices; thousands of voices, screaming their insanity inside her head. The voices quiet one by one until there is only a lone remaining voice, Phaedra. She says, “Come, take my hand, take my hand.” The poison of insanity is administered by Phaedra and our heroine falls into darkness. She submerges herself, loses herself in the mad river. The sound of the water slowly brings her full circle; back into the light, where roses may still grow.
